Are You Itching To Believe You Have Bed Bugs? What To Do

Andrea Cruz

If everyone is scratching and has rashes that look like dry irritated skin, and there are pink stains in the sheets, do you have bed bugs? The answer is yes, these are very common signs to having bed bugs, and you'll want to get expert treatment right away.

Bed bugs are plaguing North America and you could have brought them into your home without even knowing it, and now they are in your bed, furniture and dressers. Here are a few things you'll want to consider to ensure you get rid of the problem entirely.

Bed Bug Treatment Services

A professional pest control team needs to come in and treat the entire house, since the bed bugs could be living in the deepest crevices of your bedrooms, like in curtains and all fabrics clothes and pillows,  and all other living spaces. The professionals are going to kill the adults, hatchlings and the eggs, and you may need more than one treatment. After the home has been treated, there are some other items that need to be cleaned as well.

Remove Mattresses

If the mattresses in the house are deeply saturated with eggs and bugs, it may be best to throw the items away instead of trying to treat all of the bugs. This way you know that there isn't a threat that there are still bugs lingering around while you sleep, and they won't re-infest your home.

Dry Clean Necessary Items

All luggage that you could have taken in a taxi, on a bus or train, or in an airplane should be dry cleaned. The same goes with any backpacks, purses, or other items that could have been transferred outside the home and brought back inside, or heavy coats and bedding. The dry cleaning will kill the bugs.

Have Your Cars Detailed

Since you transport baggage in your car, there is a good chance that you could have bed bugs in the trunk or carpeting. Have the car detailed, which includes steaming the carpeting and upholstery, to make sure that you don't expose all of your items to bed bugs after the experts treat your house. Make sure the trunk is cleaned as well.

Bed bugs can live months without feeding off humans for months, so leaving your house isn't going to take care of the problem. Instead, you want to attack the problem right away so you can get ahead of the infestation, and so you can resume your normal life. If you are suspicious you have bed bugs call both the pest control company and the health department right away. Contact a business, such as Arab Termite and Pest Control, for more information.
